Collision Specialists Inc in Austin Minnesota

In 1981, Randy Miller, a native of Owatonna Minnesota, purchased an undercoating companys’ tools and inventory at a sealed auction. Being unemployed, it was what was needed to start a home based body shop in Austin, which he named, “Randy’s Body Shop”. He worked for 7 years in a two car garage until 1988. Randy built a customer base by performing rust repair, paint jobs and installing accessories.

In 1988, Randy decided to expand his business and build an 1800 square foot building at the same location and slightly changed the name to “Randy’s Autobody”. It was equipped with a new paint booth, frame straightening equipment and body tools needed to repair collision damage. He hired his first employee in 1990.

In 2001, Randy decided to bring on a partner, Mark Reynen, and incorporated the business and changed the name to “Collision Specialists, Inc.”. A new 8300 square foot facility was constructed in 2003 and is now the home of CSI. The new facility now has 10 employees.

2006 brought more changes as education and system changes were implemented to keep Collision Specialists Inc in front-running in the changing collision repair industry. Lean concepts from the history books of Toyota and Henry Ford were taught to the employees and continue to be the back bone of Collision Specialists. In 2019 (now 11 employees), Collision Specialists Inc is now repairing three times the amount of vehicles as in 2006 keeping quality and customer satisfaction a priority and completing vehicles in industry leading time lines. Collision Specialists Inc, with its vision set forth, will keep customers and insurance carriers their top priority. Collision Specialists Inc will keep their employees trained and educated to remain the leaders in the industry.
